10% Principle
10% Principles by Richardson & Fusco:
Competence attracts but enthusiasm ignites?
sales person at a shirts store, selling you shirts, you interrupt him from a conversation with another salespersons. he might kjnow all the shirts and all the details, and is competent about the sale, but his enthusiasm and body language in the customer, and conversation didn’t communicate much enthusiasm or friendliness.
Contagious enthusiasm for what they are teaching
Productive Procrastination:
company tells a man to either drop the product or do something more compelling. i said to him, to drop it immediately. he told mgt to give him 1 month. next 1 month meeting he gave everyone fudge.. they took a bag of hershey and the companies marshmellow jam jar and told them of the new marketing ploy.. everyone loved it. and it started a large campaign where everyone was buying the 2 ingredients to make the delicious fudge.
Don’t blame the messenger.
Visiting the dentist is supposed to be dreadful. but one afternoon, i left and the dentist explained to me that he wanted to help me keep my teeth and good health bite. but to do this he needed time to study my mouth and then plan the options with me. he could start by drilling and capping, but in the long run, a total approach was preferable.
Travel agenet.. too busy to return your call when you call today. a daylater, when he requested inf of an inexpensive flight to D.C. he was given a proice quote. a phone call to another agnecy came up with a fare that was 70 cheaper.

The Cardini Factor: doing the basics really really well.
The listening Lever (empathetic listening) – listen to your employees. listen to your followers. a suggestion box is not listening. some managers do this, or they think that because they tell that their door is always open that they have an ear for listening. mazda plant employees came up with at least 40 product prduct improvement or work simplification idea a year. most empllyees in american firms dont average one.
how would you like to work at a hospital school or factory where you’re told you have two jobs. the first is to do your assigned task extremely well, for example write computer programs teach and assemble components. whiile the other is to work with others in our group to find ways to improe the quality and reduce the cost of your product or service.
Be aware of Mental ANchors
Working like a beaver – breaking thru the mental ice.
ZigZag thinking. – used to make small or incremental changes in an existing process or product. much of the progress in our lives is the result of tents of thousands of zigzag thinkgers, each of whom made a marginal changes.
To be catalytic leaders – we need not change the people around us – only ourselves.
How do you feel when ppl listen to you?
How do you feel when ppl don’t listen to you?
